Captain Kristin “Beo” Wolfe is the new F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team pilot

With over 800 flight hours in both the F-22 Raptor and the F-35A Lightning II, Capt. Kristin “Beo” Wolfe is a combat veteran pilot from the 388th FW.

Captain Kristin “Beo” Wolfe is ready to bring the Lightning!

Beo in fact was publicly introduced as the new F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team pilot on Feb. 29, 2020 after being certified to fly the demo profile during the annual Heritage Flight Conference held at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz.

With over 800 flight hours in both the F-22 Raptor and the F-35A Lightning II, Capt. Wolfe is a combat veteran pilot from the 388th FW. She’ll be “sending it” for the next two years, showcasing the world’s most advanced fighter jet to people across the world.

Beo is the first female single-ship demonstration pilot since Capt. Zoe “Sis” Kotnik was suddenly relieved of her command of the F-16 Viper demo team last year.

Previously located at Luke AFB, Ariz., under Air Education and Training Command, the demonstration team is now part of Air Combat Command (ACC) and is assigned to the 388th Fighter Wing (FW) at Hill AFB, Utah.

The 2020 airshow schedule for the Air Force’s only F-35A Demonstration Team will see the Utah-based team displaying the capabilities of the Lightning II at approximately 20 performances starting this March and running through November.

The official 2020 schedule and F-35A Demo Team information is located on their website here.

The approximately 18-minute long profile will highlight the F-35A’s numerous capabilities to include speed, agility, and high-g turning, while the team will provide opportunities for people around the world to see the skill of America’s Airmen.

The F-35, America’s newest fifth-generation fighter, provides game-changing stealth, interoperability and lethality. It can penetrate dangerous airspace that other aircraft cannot and destroy high-threat targets both in the air and on the ground.
