New video shows U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet chasing UFO, group founded by former Blink182 musician says

According To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science group the clip is a Defense Department footage from an F/A-18 Super Hornet’s video of the “high-speed flight of an unidentified aircraft”

Taken aboard a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet off the East Coast of the U.S. in 2015, the unaltered footage was captured by a Raytheon advanced targeting forward-looking infrared (ATFLIR) pod, which contains the most advanced sensors and powerful tracking system on the market, the video in this article was released by To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science group – an organization leading on the issue that includes a former head of the now-defunct Pentagon Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program and was co-founded by former Blink182 musician Tom DeLonge.

According the group the clip (titled “GO FAST”) is a Defense Department footage from an F/A-18 Super Hornet’s video of the “high-speed flight of an unidentified aircraft.”

As reported by CNN, the Pentagon declined to comment the footage. However To The Stars Academy said multiple government organizations reviewed the video for release, and that anyone could obtain the video using a Freedom of Information Act request.

The publication of the purported military footage follows revelations last year from The New York Times about the past Pentagon effort on unidentified aerial phenomena and the publication of two videos showing Navy pilots’ encounters with unidentified objects.

Luis Elizondo, the former head of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program who now works at To The Stars Academy, told CNN on Monday that the newly released video provides further evidence of what he said is likely a much larger cache of Pentagon materials about unidentified aerial phenomena and underscored the need for a public conversation around the issue.

“These are just three videos now that have come out that everybody’s looking at,” Elizondo said. “But there is far more compelling evidence that I was privy to that — you know, I think you’re looking at the tip of the iceberg.”

Elizondo said the organization obtained the video through “reporting channels,” but declined to get into detail about the group’s “sources and methods.” He said they followed the “proper process” to get the video and that “the Department of Defense approved the release.”

The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was a covert program to investigate UFO phenomena. However Sara Seager, an astrophysicist at M.I.T., cautioned that not knowing the origin of an object does not mean that it is from another planet or galaxy. “When people claim to observe truly unusual phenomena, sometimes it’s worth investigating seriously,” she said. But, she added, “what people sometimes don’t get about science is that we often have phenomena that remain unexplained.”

Noteworthy the video in this post follows that released last month by UFO seekers Tim Doyle and Tracey Su in which they captured photos of F-16s dogfighting a triangular aircraft over Area 51.

Now dear Geeks, we are looking forward to hearing your views: what do you think about the weird object depicted in this post? Is that a UFO or is something that doesn’t have interstellar origins?
