Iconic Top Gun house moved to Oceanside Pier: it will be part of the new Oceanside Beach Resort

In Top Gun, actor Tom Cruise arrives at the house on a motorcycle to meet his onscreen girlfriend played by Kelly McGillis.

As the video in this post shows, the famous Top Gun house in Oceanside was on the move on May 21, 2020.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the historic home was carefully maneuvered up Pacific Street and is now settled at the new Oceanside Beach Resort across from the Oceanside Pier.

S.D. Malkin Properties, which broke ground on the Oceanside Beach Resort in 2019, expects to open the hotel with its newly acquired “Top Gun” house this year.

The Top Gun house, AKA the Graves House, the bright blue Victorian-style home was featured in the 1986 action film.

In the movie, actor Tom Cruise arrives at the house on a motorcycle to meet his onscreen girlfriend played by Kelly McGillis.

Noteworthy Kelly McGillis, who played Charlie, Maverick’s love interest in the 1986 movie, was never approached to reprise her role in the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight last year, Kelly said: ‘I’m old and I’m fat and I look age appropriate for what my age is and that is not what that whole scene is about.

‘To me, I’d much rather feel absolutely secure in my skin and who and what I am at my age as opposed to placing a value on all that other stuff.’

As we have previously reported, pictures taken on Nov. 2, 2018 in Los Angeles showed Tom Cruise filming motorbike scenes with Jennifer Connelly for the Top Gun: Maverick.

Noteworthy Connelly will play Maverick’s love interest in Top Gun Sequel, replacing Kelly McGillis.

Top Gun: Maverick will hit theaters on Dec. 23, 2020.
