Marty Batura, owner of the Nebraska-based Worldwide Aircraft Recovery teamed up with W.M. Jordan Company to make the whole thing work, even though it was too big for the room.

As told in the clip description, this time lapse shows the whole process from getting the room ready to seeing the plane go down I-64.

The Blackbird at the Virginia Aviation Museum is getting, SR-71A/#61-7968, holds the world record for endurance flying, set on Apr. 26, 1971, with a 10« hour, 15,000-mile nonstop flight, practically three-quarters of the way around the Earth.

According to Style Weekly, the SR-71 on display at the Virginia Aviation Museum features the most complete cockpit of any Blackbird yet displayed, but the plane will be missing a few key elements — namely its cameras, monitoring devices and J58 engines.
